Tired: Hi there can anyone please tell... - Functional Neurol...
Tired
Hi Arlene
Yes, it is normal with FND and my wife Kim has felt really tired the past 2 days.
It usually comes on late afternoon and feels really fatigued.
Get yourself a full blood count done if you already haven't Arlene because low Iron can make you tired and lethargic.
Try eating some greens too like Spinach and Broccoli too - darker the better and see if this helps.
Keep well hydrated too , up to 2 litres a day if you can because water feeds the muscles.
Hope things go well.
Lots of love
Tony & Kim xx
Anyone with any chronic condition goes through spells of fatigue. Fighting what ails you is always exhausting. That said, check out iron levels (as mentioned) and blood sugar levels, etc.
Yes last summer I was sleeping 18-20 hrs a day for 2 weeks!! It comes and goes. Pacing can help make sure you rest regularly !
hi there Arlene, I feel like this most of the time and have to force myself to get out bed or I would just stay there, my wife works part time and fortunately is very sympathetic to my condition and doesn't push me to do stuff, I will get up and empty the washing machine and hang the clothes up and then have to lay down to get over the exertion and empty the dishwasher and have to rest again, life is a bit difficult I have always been a very active man, refitted my bathroom and kitchen but it seems that those may have gone I don't seem to be able to do this stuff anymore, so yes tiredness does seem to be a symptom of this bloody condition. Dave
Thank you Dave I have a7 year old son and I'm single so I hear you loud and clear its so hectic to get out of bed I dress him for school pack lunch when he's gone I have to take a nap but not realising I'm sleeping till he comes from school thanks God blessed you're wife for the courage she has hope you get better.mwah

Arlene. Agree with all replies posted but particularly that said by Dave. It has become so hard to differentiate between tiredness and weakness now. Regardless, I feel like the body just is not producing enough energy to meet the demands being placed on it. I get some short term relief by eating healthy snacks, but the end result is that activity gets reduced and I simply have to rest. Resting almost immediately puts me to sleep.
But sleep quality is poor and disrupted, so I wake up unrefreshed and the cycle repeats. I do take in fresh air and sunshine by getting outside and that helps.
I spend much of my research time on body metabolism and energy consumption. Still finding pieces to this puzzle. Hope it gets better for you.

Thank you Dan its true its more weakness then being tiredness tried to pick up something this afternoon and realized I don't have the energy thanks it helps every little detailed explanation keep well mwah
I think what you end up with is a chronic illness, then chronic pain, then chronic fatigue, then chronic depression, if you can sleep, please make the most of it, when I lay down I get more pain so I get back up to more pain, never ending cycle, enjoy your sleep, they say sleep heals, you could be lucky and get slightly better. Plus the never ending feeling of loneliness, being unable to help at home, speak to anyone, you won't know as if asleep you won't be feeling so negative. Wishing you all the sleep you can get. (Jealous, yes) but kindest regards Lisa.
Lol thanks after the sleeping the pain also waked up so I'm back on my slow go wish you all the best
