When It All Wants to Come Unglued...

My Dear Friends.

A frequent sanctuary from the taunts of my nervous system exists in poetry. From time to time, I have found words bubbling up as though they alone needed to shout.

The following was written some years ago when I had to shed my own acceptance and pick up the fight for my daughter's health. It may help to read it aloud as I am anything but poetic. Laughter is good too.

"Fences"

The road has broadened, its route endured.

Pure thought is no longer awashed insecure.

Posts, fencing the way, framing inside from out.

Dissolve into landscape freeing movement about.

Blazened trails are indeed, no longer in need

Of opinion on whether or not we succeed.

Rather, light from nebula be pondered one time.

Its mystery concealed in amulets of the mind.

Fences, "en masse" reflecting spectrums of sight.

No longer need mending just so they look right.

With devout purpose we live not to serve ourselves.

But for others whose dreams sit long on the shelf.

To unlock those scripts the past encoded so well.

Brings us back to the place of "longing" to dwell.

Daniel E. Jennings

Seattle, WA

May peace be with you this day. Blessings.

Beautiful poem, thank you for sharing. Everyday of our lives was known before a one of them came to be, what comfort to know we are in His hands..
