Using CBD to treat non-epileptic seizures, anxiety, depression, and pain

I should preface this post by letting people know that CBD (Cannabidiol) has been found to benefit people with neurological conditions, but there is still much research to be done. CBD may not work for everyone, but I believe it worth a shot. CBD is non-toxic and has little to no side-effects even in high doses, which makes it an appealing medication indeed.

Here is the exact wording from US Patent #6,630,507, held by The Department of Health and Human Services:

“No signs of toxicity or serious side effects have been observed following chronic administration of cannabidiol to healthy volunteers (Cunha et al., Pharmacology 21:175-185, 1980), even in large acute doses of 700 mg/day (Consroe et al., Pharmacol. Biochem. Behav. 40:701-708, 1991)” -Found at organiccosmos.com/safety-an...

6 months ago, I was having 3 seizures a day, dealing with anxiety attacks, and pain from past surgeries. I began using CBD in suppository and pill form, a small dosage at first, working my way up every few days. There is not a standardized dosage for CBD as of yet, as CBD works differently on each individual, so while some people need large amounts others may not. The rule of thumb is always low dose, go slow.

After a few weeks of tinkering with the CBD and throwing a small amount of THC into the mix, which I use a vaporizer to administer, all my seizure activity stopped, I had less anxiety and little pain. It has felt like a miracle.

I felt the need to post about this on here as it was a game changer for me. I am healthier than I have been in many years.

CBD is not legal in many places yet, so please look into the laws for your area before using this medication. But feel free to bring it up with your doctor and ask whether or not he/she would be willing to sign you a prescription for it. There is quite a lot of information on the web about cannabis, not all of it good information, so be careful of your sources. MedicalJane.com is an excellent resource.

The photos I've posted are from a few years back when I was on my highest dosages of pharmacutical medications, which caused me to lose my hair and gain almost double my body weight in half a year. I am finally off every one of those and have hair and a healthy weight.

Cannabis has given me a life again, a better life. Please feel free to contact me as I would be happy to answer any questions I can, or to direct you to places that can answer what I can't. I'm still learning too!

Hi Lindsey.

I have just read your post with regards to "CBD"

To date I think I have tried every drug in the book for my "Chronic Pain"

My story is complicated & very long.

My name is Stephen Hartnett.

I'm 50yrs old.

In 1998 I suffered a SAH + Stroke, caused by a Brain AVM.

In 1999 I was given the all clear.

In 2004 the Brain AVM Returned !!!

In 2005 I had Brain Radio Surgery.

Instantly I had Chronic Pain 24/7.

Since then I have been given everything but to date no improvement !!!!

Recently I have brought a Medipen & used a number off CBD Cartridges.

These seem to help me better than anything tried to date.

My question sorry is where do I go now ????

Am I best to see my GP with my findings ???

Sorry but I'm taking many many meds with little to no help !!!!

Thank.

Steve.

Are your from the states?? I am the worst physcial condition that I have been in years. I am so weak I cannot walk, I have lost almost 20 lbs in a very short time. I cannot hardly eat anything without being terriby sick from both ends, sorry for the graphics. At this point I am open to absolutely anything. I have never drank, or smoked in my life, or swore for that point, point is led a very clean life. I just am so deperate for help, or I will not be in this world any longer. I will be home with my Lord. Please give any and all information that you have. I live in wi, near duluth,mn but am willing to travel anywhere. I have an appointment at Mayo in rochester day before thanksgiving, but definitely not thinking I have a chance if I wait till then. Thanks for any help. Cathy

Oh my goodness, sending all my love and good wishes to you. I couldnt work out where you come from but if in UK I think you need an emergency appointment with your GP. If USA I am not sure who your equivelant might be. I have neen very desperate at times when I have so many symptoms I dont know which to tackle first and , unfortunately with this condition it seems common for more that one neural pathway to be affected at one go.

Its difficult to suggest any treatments to try without a clear understanding of symptoms, triggers and treatment but Please focus on one at a time- whichever is worsed at that time.

It sounds like your gastric problems might be the biggest issue right now, followed by walking.

If you dont have a bug, an ulcer, gastric acidity, food intollerance or chronic gastric condition such as crones or ulcerative colitis, and its not a side effect of medication it might be worth looking at taking a good quality multivitamin with minerals and vit D. It needs to be taken for a minimum of 3 months but it is amazing how much of a difference it can make to your gastric issues , fatigue and movement. Are you aware of any foods etc that trigger symptoms?

Please take heart. Talk about each of your individual and collective issues on here. You will get some helpful feedback, I am sure.

Best wishes, Mel

Cathy, I am so sorry that you are feeling worse. At one point, I thought you were doing better, but it seems you health has regressed. I know your faith in God is strong and He will be your strength. He knows your needs. Of course, you already know this. I will pray for you. God bless you!

Hi Cathy.

I'm "so so" sorry for you, are you able too be seen sooner at the Mayo if things are really bad ???

Have you got friends & family who can help you ????

Please please let me know if I can help ??

Try to stay strong for your religion & the Lord as that is the way that he would rather !!!
