Query for the BonFire night.

Hi everyone!

I love Bonfire night and Christmas but

will any of you have problems with the

noises and lights?

I want to enjoy it all.

Do any of you have to stay indoors?

Will the Christmas lights on your

trees set any symptoms off?

Such simple pleasures we want to enjoy.

Any tips out there?

Best Wishes everyone.

My suggestion s would be most certainly wear earplugs for bonfire night when outdoors (or in) if you are noise sensitive. Certain flashing lights may affect you but dark glasses can help reduce this, or change the flash as some may affect you differently to others. you may also find them to be a "long" trigger, meaning you'll be ok for a time, but then slowly get toward your symptom threshold. Really is an individual thing and in time you will learn your own triggers and ways to reduce, or avoid, them. Good luck, but most importantly ENJOY the festivities! :-)

You'll find many more people at FNDHope.org Facebook group where all these and many more answers and support can be found with the over 2500 members around the world.

Hi Kim, That is what I was going to say. I have to wear sunglasses just to watch the TV at times. And when sound is being particularly bad, simply cannot participate. However, if I know the sound is about to happen and it is not constant my body can usually handle it. If it is a sharp sound out of nowhere, or any noise at all is a bother, I have to leave where I am. But YES, enjoy Christmas and all that you can, It is such a special season to show Our love for the Lord and others. God Bless, Cathy

I have many siezures every day and lights are one of my triggers as our sudden loud noises so for me fireworks are a nightmare and chrsitmas tree lights have to be quiet dull ideally red and definitely not flashing , I do wear snowglasses (darker and more reflective han sunglasses) when out because fluorescent lights are a big trigger for me ...they help but do not stop the problems.
