hi. I took unwell on Thursday long story short in currently a patient in stroke ward but it’s not a stroke it’s my FND. Currently I can walk with aid of one nurse. My left side is affected. I cannot manage stairs. 4 days in hospital so far. I am getting physio and occupational therapist on Monday to see if I can climb stairs. I have about 15 concrete stairs to get into my house. This will be fun. Bladder has decided to not tell me when to pee so am catheterised also. Anyone had similar problem? 🏨🇬🇧

I'm really sorry that you find yourself in this position. Although it sounds as though you are getting some level of understanding and support from the hospital, which is good.I wanted to send you my good wishes and hope that things will improve for you soon. Personally I haven't had the bladder issues you are contending with, but I was in hospital with a suspected stroke a few years back. At the time I hadn't been diagnosed with FND so it was a frustrating experience. That said, even with my diagnosis, most medical professionals here simply look blank. 🥺 or 😶!

Hello Unicorn527, I’m sorry you’re in hospital and enduring these symptoms. I was taken into hospital several times earlier this year with similar stroke like symptoms and had to stay 3 days once whilst they tested for lots of things. Once neurologist diagnosed FND I’ve been pretty much left to it. I just wanted to send you healing wishes and let you know you’re not alone. All the best x

Hi I've had fnd 18 months, started slurred voice different symptoms coming at different stages, yesterday I couldn't walk at all, but I wanted to tell you that I cannot tell when I need to pee or open bowels and its so embarrassing my neurologist said it's not neurological but I think it is. 4 weeks ago the Dr put me on sertraline tablets and in the last few days been able to feel when I need to go but as I walk at snail's pace sometimes don't get there in time. Get well soon. Hope this helps.
