Florinef Dosage
I have been reading that excessive thirst can be experienced if one's
Florinef
dose is too low, and even it is too high, which can be difficult to regulate. I did a test today, and increased my
Florinef
dose to .15/day which one pill and a half.

Another update on potential meds intolerance
Normally should be low alonside low cort, so I wasn't prescribed
Florinef
for low aldo. Anyway, my family doctor and endo want me to do an MRI of adrenal glands, full body CT and potentially pituitary MRI.

Endocrinologist with understanding of adrenal dysfunction and t3 usage in the UK? Is there such a person?!
Aldosterone blood test revealed below mid range, and after several wasted appointments with my GP to discuss prescribing
florinef
(fludrocortisone) for my just below mid range aldosterone, she has decided it’s too complicated for her and has officially dropped me ‘like a hot brick’.. her words!

Hypothyroid. Increase Iron? New blood test results.
Plasma Aldosterone: < 103 pmol/L ( 103 - 859 ) This is a bit weird as I have been taking fludrocrtisone (
Florinef
), for this, but probably need to up the dose.

Florinef - cortisol suppression?
Hi there – wondering how people get on when they are on fludrocortisone? I have been on it for about 1 month so far and graduated slowly from ¼ to ½ a pill daily. I feel tremendously better and am happy to say that this drug seems to be working wonders for me. I am taking it with good salt & water

Dreadful treatment for Low Adrenal Reserve
I had some prednisone in the cupboard from a while back and started taking 2.5mgs while I tried to get
Florinef
or Cortef. As Dr P can't prescribe it, this meant my GP. She , as many others have reported, was NOT helpful.

From Hashimoto's to Graves disease? What should they test?
I have done well replacing with Synthroid (levethyroxine) for the hypothyroid, cortisol and
florinef
for Addison's disease and insulin for diabetes. About a year ago my thyroid gland started working again and now it has become overactive.

aldosterone and adrenal fatigue?
I cannot help but wonder
Florinef
(brand name for aldosterone) is so rarely mentioned? If you have been diagnosed with adrenal fatigue, should you not take aldosterone as well?

Neurocardiogenic Syncope - would be good to talk to others who suffer with NCS. Anyone here?
Originally prescribed midodrine, but it gave me terrible headaches, so eventually changed to fludrocortisone (
Florinef
). Got to say that the 'fludro' works great and I get very few side effects. Seems to work well keeping me upright too! I do get quite a few 'pre-syncopial' moments though!

How damaged am I because of a delayed diagnosis?
I was put on some serious steroids (
Florinef
) to get my blood pressure up. Side effects: it may damage your adrenal glands and removes the potassium from your body. It was not a good experience and it didn't work. Back in the ER and now diagosed with "Cronic Venus Pooling".
