Electro-stimulation to maximize exercise benefits for cancer patients

Ok, I was looking for something to add to my workouts, and I thought about electro-stimulation. So I came across this study from year 2020, interventional (so quite reliable) that underlines the ENORMOUS IMPORTANCE of working out when dealing with prostate cancer (any cancer actually). The biochemical benefits are huge...

This study on the use of WB-EMS for cancer patients is fascinating. It highlights the potential of exercise to release beneficial myokines, like IL-6 and BDNF, which can influence cancer cell behavior. The ability of post-exercise serum to selectively inhibit cancer cell growth without harming healthy cells points to a promising adjunctive therapy for cancer. Exercise's impact on genes related to cell cycle regulation and apoptosis could also play a role in slowing cancer progression. Further research could illuminate specific mechanisms, potentially leading to tailored exercise regimens for cancer therapy.

I won't buy a full body EMS but one of those with electrodes...but still I feel like it's a good move!!

Maximus,

I read the title of your post and thought...

"My goodness, Maximus is advocating for using cattle prods on us to get the most from exercise !!!"

Just Kidding !!!

The whole-body electromyostimulation (WB-EMS) is an interesting concept for those of us trying to lose additional weight.. Here's what the AI had to say:

Whole-body electromyostimulation (WB-EMS) can be an effective tool for weight loss when combined with a balanced diet and lifestyle. WB-EMS can help with weight loss by:

Increasing muscle mass: WB-EMS can help maintain muscle mass and strength, which can help boost metabolism and burn calories.

Reducing body fat: WB-EMS can help reduce body fat, especially in women.

Improving metabolic indices: WB-EMS can help improve metabolic indices, such as HDL-cholesterol levels.

Being joint-friendly: WB-EMS is a joint-friendly alternative to more demanding resistance exercises.

WB-EMS works by stimulating muscles, which can increase resting metabolic rate (RMR). The effects of WB-EMS are most pronounced when the impulse intensity is high and training periods are longer.

Some say that a healthy rate of weight loss is 0.5–1% of body weight per week, which is about 1–2 pounds per week. With WB-EMS and proper nutrition, it's possible to lose 12–24 pounds in 3 months.

So yeah.... a whole- body electromyostimulation suit may be in the making... Two birds with one stone....lose weight and kick Mr. PCa in the nutsack at the same time...

Who woulda "thunk" it ??
