Long-term vilification of saturated fats have led us to be afraid of longer-chain fats, such as (the innocent) stearic acid (C16:0). The short & medium chain fats don't get much press.
"Caprylic acid {C8:0} (from Latin capra 'goat') ... is a saturated, medium-chain fatty acid". It has a backbone of 8 carbons.
"Two other acids are named after goats via the Latin word capra: caproic acid (C6) and capric acid (C10). Together, these three fatty acids comprise 15% of the fatty acids in goat milk fat" (Wiki)
"... we verified that high concentrations of FFA C8:0 can promote the biological behavior of PCa cells by activating KLF7/IL-6/p21 signaling pathway

I might eat a little very occassionally ... but I will not use coconut oil.
Coconut oil is 6.8% Caprylic Acid.
In contrast, the soft goat cheese that my wife likes has only 0.569%.
I prefer the aged hard goat cheese, which is 0.961%, but it's not something I can eat a lot of. & I don't recall seeing it in stores here. A neighbor in Virginia used to make it. But that was 18 years ago.
I recall a vlog post where Dr. Myers was against coconut oil, but I can't locate it.

from something I wrote 4 years ago:
"NPfisherman posted a Mayo link [3] with a quote by Cardiologist Dr. Stephen Kopecky:“Forty years ago, a study was done looking at butter, lard, beef suet or coconut oil. Which one raised your bad cholesterol the most? And guess what? It was the coconut oil.”"
I've always been at odds with the notion that coconut oil was good for you. In fact, it has seemed to be a mainstay for keto advocates. You have always made a point to distinguish between the good, the bad, and the downright ugly when it comes to fats and our health.
No small feat for a guy who is not a trained MD, NP, naturopath, or dietitian/nutritionist.
