Prostate removed
Welcome. A lot of men here (myself included) had their prostate removed. How long ago was yours removed. For the vast, vast majority of us we regain control. I think my experience is not so. For the first couple of months I was going through about six pads a day. Then, over about three of for months it decreased to just one pad. Now, about 18 months after surgery I more or less have control again, I still wear pads but now it is more a matter of feeling secure than actually needing it.
There are some that regained control in less than a month. There are others that took over a year. The main thing is to not stress out. When I was having major leakage I thought it would never get better.
It is very important to exercise your lower pelvic muscles to help regain control. Listed below is a reference.

Do not let lack of control keep you from going the things you love. When I was leaking bad I still rode my bike, but planned my route where there were restrooms about the time my pads will be full. Others here can also share their experiences.
It may feel degrading but it is not. You went through some very serious surgery. It can take more time than you expect before things get back to normal.
Hi I did not have my prostate removed but after having Brachytherapy I’m now wishing I had, it’s been 18 months since my operation the first 6 months were ok but the last 12 have been hell the pain is constant and nights even worse, my team keep trying different things but nothing seams to relieve the pain.
I did not have mine removed, I had 43 fractions of EBRT. after 7 months , no ED, side effects of the radiation is gone. Very happy with results, PSA 0.8.

I had mine removed last year struggled at bit at first after having the catheter removed was going through 5 to 6 pads a day but after a few weeks of doing the pelvic floor exercises I went down to 2 a day then another couple of weeks one a day, stayed on one a day for the next 10 months the I was having radiotherapy so I went back up to 2 to 3 a day now back to 1.

I had my Radical Prostatactomy on 3-28-05 and I have never regretted it ever! I am alive and cancer is in remission for many years! Thanks to the surgeon who operated on me and the fine people who cared for me through the years! I have been through a lot and my journey is not over yet! I have often thanked the Doctors and all the nurses who have and some that still take care of me! Never forgot these people!
