I have now been advised to go down the diability route as this maywell help me with sickness targets etc and may also benifit from this is mnay other ways as my fibro is currently getting worse.

The trouble is I have no idea where to start!

my occ health have advised my manager that she would recognise this as a disability due to its chronic nature and gave me some contact points to go away and find info!

please could anyone help me where to start and how to have my fibro diagnosed as a disability and where else to get support from and help with any benifits????

It's not a case of getting your Fibro diagnosed as a disability. If you have a physical or mental impairment and the impairment has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on your ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities, then it counts as a disability for the purposes of the Equality Act.

I would contact one of the organisations listed on that page who can offer specialist advice :)

It's very hard, as you can't get registered as disabled as there is no

such thing anymore, there are a few things you can do, I don't know

Where you work but you can go to access to work, I think that is what

It is called and if your work place needs any think to make your life

Easier they will come and assess your work place for me that was

Not really appropriate, as I work as a nurse, you will find a number

On google different number depending in which area you come from.

They were very helpful as well

The other thing you can do is, phone the equity commission I found then

Fantastic it's a free telephone number it's on here some where as I have

Have already written about it on here, if you can't find it I think liberty

May have it

It's a free number, and they will advise you of your rights regarding you

Work and disabilities you will need about 30 mins and a writing pad

They will give you a registration number so you can ring again, but

They will not give you any legal advice.

Or you can go to a solicitor who specialises in work related problems but

This will cost you a little bit of money

Not what you're looking for?
