Jo xx
Hi Amanda I have been on it for about a year and I have put on over a stone in weight which makes me feel really down. Like viv said it just make you hate Fibro even more . X
yes, put on weight and not thru eating or over-eating, pain or weight lose, we cannot win
Absolutely, and I needed to lose weight before I started taking them! I need to make a decision regarding pain versus weight because I have arthritis in my knees and feet now, and carrying the extra weight is making it worse. Torn between the devil and the deep blue sea! X
I put on a stone in about a month of starting lyrica. However as I increased the dose to the optimun recommended by the pain clinicI had to many side effects the worst being not in control of my limbs, not walking straight and forever dropping things so I decreased the dose and left them of altogether. But not everybody has the same side effects so give them a try and see what happens.
P.S. in the two months after I was diagnosed with cancer in the summer I lost all of that stone
I've put weight on since starting taking it about 10 months ago. Until I read this I thought it was due to lac of exercise cause of the pain.
Hi all, after seeing my GP yesterday she advised that I stop Lyrica immediately. She said I definitely wasn't myself and she was worried that I might crash my mobility scooter!
I said that my muscle twitches had also got a lot worse and apparently that is another side effect!
That pain clinic Dr has a lot to answer for as he's set me back a few weeks in my progress now.
GP agreed with me to increase the amytriptaline to 20mg at night, stop the lyrica and in the near future add cymbalta.I'm SO grateful that I have a lovely GP and I know how lucky I am!!!!
