Why does battling with my employers West Yorkshire Police have to be so tough?

Hi there, I trained in the field of Animal Husbandry, ending up with a HND. I chose a career in Biomedical Science to start me off ( seems ironic now i rely on medication!lol). After 5 years I applied to be a Community Support Officer with West Yorkshire Police. I have been in the role 5 years now and I am currently locked in a battle for my rights. I have had boughts of fatigue for years and my doctor always said it was a virus or i was depressed. I started with horrendous pain in my shoulders, neck & back. My doctor prescribed painkillers & i had physio through work. After 6 months & 6 doctors (multiple visits) i was referred to a Rheumatologist. When i saw the Rheumatologist I was suffering with pain in my elbows and wrists too. I was told i had CTS and Tennis Elbow. The months passed and my physiotherapist noticed the weakness in my legs so she sent me back to the consultant. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia without them doing any scans or further tests. Three months later I was discharged. Since then my level of disability has increased and so has my pain relief. My line manager at work wishes me to carry on as normal, just like any other officer. I have been signed off work by my doctor as I am now struggling to walk at all. I don't know what the future holds for me now. People keep telling me that my personnel department should be moving me to another role r.e. DDA. All my line management can talk about is getting rid of me:-(
