Medical retirement
Hi Jeannie
I got retirement on ill health grounds. I worked for the local authority so was very fortunate that i was on full pay for 26 weeks and then on half pay until my retirement came through. I went to OH and also my boss wanted to me to go because I could not do my job. The process started by filling in lots of forms and medical reports were sent for, after that OH health put a case together and that was sent to a doctor and he approved it all this took some time and it was very stressful. I had to keep having meetings with my boss because I was on the sickness policy. Hope this helps Sue xx
Helps billions Sue. I also work for local authority. OH said thought I would likely be better in 5 years which would fall into tier 2 band. Did you have tiers - tier 1 never work again Tier2 likely to work b4 65 tier 3 likely to be working before 3 years. I am at the end of sick pay tried to go back phased in but struggled so am off again. Don't know whether to apply for retirement because if fail then automatically dismissed on grounds of incapacity.
Also did u apply or did OH suggest?
So glad I met you as everything seems so scary x
Hi I got band 1 never work again so was lucky but my GP was very supportive I discussed it with OH and they gave me the forms etc. You have nothing to loose because then you would be dimissed on capabilty. Good luck and let me know how you get on Sue x
What does being dismissed on capacity mean? I thought it meant left to claim benefits.
