PMR AND FIBROM

HAS ANY ONE GOT BOTH FIBRO AND PMR. HOW DO YOU COPE? HOW DO YOU KNOW WHICH IS WHICH? i REALLY NEED HELP. IM ON ON 15 mg PRED. INCREASED TO 40 BECAUSE OF ASTHMA FLAIR UP. NOW BACK DOWN TO 20 TOMORROW 15mg

Hi there,i'm also asthmatic so you have my uttermost sympathy, i was diagnosed with Fibro last Autumn after approx 14 years of symptoms,i am quite new to this community so please pardon my ignorance but what is PMR??? xx

hi, i was diagnoised wit fibro in oct 12 after 2+ yrs of constant pain...pmr had been dismissed by hospital as apparently at 45 i was too young!!! i plodded on believing it was fibro, until easter, like you my asthma flared, ive had asthma for 40 yrs and its usually well controlled but seems to flare roughly every 7 yrs. the doc immediately put me on steroid tablets, pred, after 6 hrs the biggest difference to me was not that i could breath but that i was out of pain!! i had a doc apt a wk later to see how asthma was and to start reducing the pred, when i explained to him about the pain going he said i def dont have fibro as steroid tablets do nothing for fibro and that i almost certainly have pmr!!
