Hi Sunflower-Pixie, you could maybe check if your local council provides an occupational health service - that's where I got some of my equipment from.

Good Luck!

As above weather you are in your own home,Private or housing association ,

If you get O\T They will come to your home and do a complete sweep so if you need the rails they might say you need a step to get into the bath or similar,

Your doctor can refer you or you can make an appointment at council, Of course if you don't want something they are offering just tell them,

They are very good and quite quick once they get going, They certainly helped me out, Iv'e had a situupathing an extra grab rail here and there, a short stair rail for the corner stair and have been granted for the addaptions required ,Front door widening and wet room very pleased with plans, Hope it's not too long, Four more months,

I wish you luck when you apply

Take care

Hi there

I contacted Adult Social Services who sent out an Occupational Physiotherapist to assess my situation.

They were very supportive and in turn provided me with another handrail as I was struggling with my balance and fibromyalgia pain.

I hope this might be the helpful in your situation.

Hiya,

Ii called my local occupational health dept at Council who referred me to the larger County Council Occ. Health Dept, they started a case. Occupational Health rang me to assess and am currently awaiting a visit. If they consider you high priority they'll come out quicker. They're coming soon to me to assess the equipment I'll need and I believe it's all free as they get grants to do it.

Good Luck xx

Hi, so you need to phone your local council and ask for adult social services, then ask for an occupational therapy assessment or contact care and repair. I was an OT and they would be more than happy to come out and talk and find out what’s difficult for you, and look at ways to make things easier for you. Good luck.x
