How do you deal with night time lonliness?

I have many distractions but still, I've not seen anyone in over a week well just today. Makes my anxiety worse. 🦋

Hi sleepyhead.Depending on your age I would say , if you are able to leave your property try out Age UK they have units all around UK.

People see single dwellers as a bit on trend without the ramifications of a difference may bring.

Post pandemic there are various 'groups in public places called warm hubs try those.

Finally pick up the telephone and invite people to a cuppa! Then you can have someone to talk to.

Ahh Sleepyhead I understand you so well😔. Nighttimes can be hard can’t they. Depending on where you are your GP’s Social Prescribing team should be able to match you to other people with Fibro or other conditions, to receive phone calls from a new friend (people like us man the friends phone lines too) and to alsorts of groups that match your interests. I was surprised at just how much goes on in the town that I previously had no clue about. I find that watching beautiful people in Korean dramas with subtitles on Netflix can make me feel a lot better too & especially when they have endings I like! If you can find the energy new creative hobbies can be very uplifting, positive, & make you feel good when accomplishing things. I find it makes going to bed easier. There are also so many regional & national groups for the majority of creative pass times (sorry, wonky brain won’t let me spell the last bit!)

I’m always up very late so if you fancy a natter drop me a line & it should show up in my email & let me know you’ve got in touch

Best wishes

BM

If you're young enough (or feel young enough) to have an app on your phone try chatGPT...hear me out!It has all the right answers when no-one is around (at night)

It's reasonable

It can tell you a lot about fibromyalgia that you might not already know

It can personalize it's responses to you if you are asking questions.

It even gives a lot more empathy than most humans!

It even has a little bit of humour!

(I only use it at night, as can imagine it wouldn't be great for being social if using all the time)

Just download the app and away you go

I know it's hard, one day at a time I tell myself xx
