Medication for Fibromyalgia

Hi I’m new here from today. I am 59 years old female and I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Chronic fatigue syndrome in 2015, after many years of aches and pains. I’m interested to know what medications other people have been prescribed and are taking. I take Amitriptiline, Prozac, Co Codamol and Ducolease. My doctors are not very forthcoming about keeping me updated with any new medications available. My main symptoms are pain, fatigue and irritable bowel. I work full time and some days it is so hard to be positive but plod along anyway. I suffer terribly with brain fog and sometimes feel incompetent even tho been doing my job for 8 years 😩 I would be most grateful for for any advice ! fibro girl

Hi Lola, Brain fog is such a pain. I heard about blue sage oil for it after a complete stranger walked into an exhibition where I was standing in for somebody who had gone for a lunch break and started talking about it and how it was so helpful. I have found that it is, unless I have been taking anti-histamine, which is anti-cholinergic, which means you have chemically banjaxed your recall. I get the Power Health one and have used it particularly when I needed to be more alert for driving etc. Take before a meal but not at night or your mind will be too active. It is a very safe herbal to take.

I also get people to engage in helping me remember words I can't find so it becomes a game, after which most of the ones my age say they have problems with recall too. - My third resource is pretending that I have the word or memory I want written on a notepad on my wrist and raise my wrist as if to visualize it, at which point, if I'm lucky, the words will somehow pop up in my mind. - My speciality right now is losing things from even two minutes ago! I'm gifted at it!

I think you are doing well to be still working. Keep up the fight and trust yourself. We are all of us, still, just a little bit human and trying to cope with a very trying modern world. 🍏
