Fibromyalgia

I haven't been diagnosed with it yet but I've been experiencing pain mostly in my back, I suffer with depression and anxiety and I've also got IBS which is one of the symptoms of fibromyalgia also I get stiffness and pain in my kneck like sharp stabbing pains am constantly tired all the time. The GP afew year ago did mention I could have fibromyalgia but didn't properly diagnose me. The GP just told me to read up on it but at the time I didn't really think nothing of it but now I think of it it could be possible that I have got it. What other symptoms of fibromyalgia is other people experiencing and does it get any easier as time goes on?

Hi Sophie firstly love the name same as my daughter please be be persistent with your GP ask to see rheumatology they are the ones that diagnosed you I suffer with my kneck but you have so many pressure points in fibromyalgia that they look for in symptoms. I get times when my skin is so sensitive no one or nothing can touch me my joints suffer some times all at the same time everyone them. I havnt found it gets easier as time goes on you just get used to it and how to many it pace your self but please persist on seeing someone and getting diagnosed as then you can get proper help you need and proper meds.

I agree with LPASQUILL s reply , push to see doctor who also may refer you to rheumatologist once blood tests have been taking and are clear, persistent symtoms over a period of time also, I think once you have a clear diagnosis it will help you manage on a daily basis. Everybody is different with their fibro, me personally some days I feel pretty much okay then another I’m struggling with aches pain fatigue but I was also diagnosed with CFS , very hard as some symptoms are very similar xx
