Good afternoon everyone. I am convinced I have Fibromyalgia but as yet have not had a diagnosis. I had a 20 minute appointment with a physiotherapist who suggested Hydro therapy and then along came Covid, I had to move house and change doctor to be nearer to family so that they could assist me. I have all the symptoms but have been unable to get an appointment since February, I am at my wits end and don't know where to turn. I am a 67 year old man.
Thank you for letting me rant

Welcome SlinkyDinky sorry to hear your at your wits end, your not alone I am 31 diagnosed a year ago I was swimming every morning before covid I wouldn’t say it helped massively pain wise but definitely improved my mental health and mind set! Unfortunately even with a diagnosis or an appointment there is really not much they can do for you in my experience. I’m having a bad flare up at the moment and I’m not on any medication at all! I keep going back to the Gp and hospital for more blood test scans and am left in agony and at my wits end in the mean time. I am just clinging on to hope the pools will open again soon as it definitely made my days abit brighter! Hope you have a better day today!
Welcome to the group nobody wants to join! It's difficult that you haven't yet managed to get a firm diagnosis.
I moved in February and I have not yet seen my GP. I'm fairly confident I don't have anything else, but I am losing fitness, and I appear to be starting a chest infection, probably caused by the weather.
Since your 67, I am assuming you have medicare. I joined a medicare advantage plan even though I am a veteran as the VA would not do anything to help me. I was frustrated and in horrible pain with my Fibro episodes. I still go to the VA and get free medicine as I take prescriptions to the VA to get them filled free bringing to my PCP at VA and the doctor makes it into a VA prescription and makes a note in my file.
I joined a plan that you go to "in network" doctors. Now is the time to sign up and you can call medicare for assistance. The primary care visits are free and the doctor referred me to the appropriate specialist ($35. -$45. per visit plus about $150. out of pocket expenses total over the course of 6 months (now would be about $250.). The doctor did many tests & some images to be sure it was not something else.
I am so glad I went and had this done! It was more than worth the full years of payments out of my social security that year to have a diagnosis and medicine!
