Will it deteriorate?

Had fibromyalgia from 13 as far as I can remember always put it down to growing pains and not knowing my center of balance and such, but in recent years ive noticed that if I flare up sometimes I can't lift my own weight, sometimes collapsing, some times have fallen down stairs etc. Is fibro progressive?

As far as i know, no. Its not progressive. I suppose it may seem that way at times but other factors will affect how fibro affects us. Stress, weather, age other illness. And isnt fibro a nurological condition..?

Personally I would go back to your GP and report these symptoms. Fibromyalgia should only be blamed if all other causes have been ruled out. Growing pains are a nonsense. My GP tried that one with my daughter but I insisted on her seeing a rheumatologist who diagnosed hypermobility syndrome. If you are having difficulties then please get them recorded on your medical records. In the future you may need to claim a benefit and it helps to have these problems recorded.

As Badbessie says, you should get checked by your GP to rule out everything else. I found mine was pretty useless on most things but they did do an ECG and some bloods. I was referred to a respiratory clinic as I had such shortness of breath. They were very thorough there and all breathing tests, CT scan and extensive blood tests came back normal.

Dizziness and loss of balance can be down to lots of things including low iron, low B12 so it’s important to get checked.

It isn't progressive from a medical standpoint, (GPs consider Arthritism. heart conditions and cancer to be progressive, but although we can see and experience changes, it is at too slow a rate to be considered progeressive by medics.
