Hello there, I get what you are saying , you feel like your always supporting people/family but when us fibro folk have bad days/weeks people just carry on and do not give back. I think a lot of us have experienced this one way or another. I am lucky I have a few girlfriends who are brilliant with me, I say a few when you find the good ones hold on to them. What’s the saying you can choose your friends not your family. I think it does hurt more if family as you feel they are the ones that should be in tune and if the boot was on the other foot say , how would they feel if you walked away, does not hurt for them to hear this sometimes.

Strange you should say that - I have found similar. Friends and acquaintances at least make the right noises of understanding, even if one senses they're struggling to do so. However, family seem to brush ones experience aside more, and expect one to keep up with the usual pace of life. Perhaps the old adage that 'familiarity breeds contempt' has something to do with it. I love being with friends for this reason, where we often laugh a lot. Perhaps one just has to find happiness where it actually is. Hugs to you.

Yep, my friends have been great n help with the silly things.

I don't have to hide if I'm having a less productive day n they will help with boosting confidence

Have a good day

One of the greatest gifts to yourself is realizing people do, as they know. With the exception of an empath, people do not know how to handle trauma in another. Until they know it themselves. Don't be disappointed if not finding support in your family. Support is out there. Just not whete you would expect it.
