Hi All,

I’m now to this forum. I was wondering if anyone is taking gabapentin. I’ve been taking it for a few weeks and I feel like it is slowly working but I wanted to know how it worked for others? Thanks! Lisa

Hi, I’m now on quite a high dose of gabapentin. It did take a while for the side effects to settle down and for me to see an improvement in my condition, but they have helped me 😊 fingers crossed for you that they help you xx

Thank you! I’m a bit tired but the only side effect I seem to be having is that I’m extremely happy. The pain is still there but it’s not so bad. My meds have been increased to 900mg a day so I will see how that goes x

Hi welcome to the forum. I take gabapentin and it does help me. Some of my symptoms it helps were my jumpy twitchy muscles on my back and legs. It also helps with my nerve pain but not completely. Nite🌜. Chris

Unfortunately I'm having to reduce my Gabapentin because of side effects. I'm on quite a high dose, but reducing to half to see if it relieves the side effects. Hope it works for you

I’ve found it helpful but it took a while to build up in my system and get the dose right. Stay with it a little while before deciding it’s not working unless you have awful side effects. It does make you tired initially but it lessens as you get used to them

Thanks! I have just had it increased to 900mgs so hopefully it will work better now.

I’ve been on them 2 years and did help I’m on 2700 a day, they did work but don’t feel they are at moment. I am however going through a few other health issues so not ruled them out yet. Good luck and it’s a slow process to build up on them.

Hi Lisa. That's good news. I'm glad it's helping you. I just started taking Gabapentin this week. I'm on 300mg which I take once a day. I decided to take at night before I go to sleep because it causes drowsiness. I've noticed that I'm sleeping better and not waking up as many times as I did before due to the pain. However, I'm feeling a bit tired during the day and still in a lot of pain. It's also increased my appetite so I'm eating a bit more even though I feel nauseous all the time.

Thanks! I started taking them 3 weeks ago and was on 300mgs. I went to the dr last week and he increased them to 900mgs. I feel a bit tired during the day but I feel all quite euphoric by the time I take the second tablet. I’m taking mine morning, afternoon and night. I hope they work for you!

It seems it but apparently you can go upto 3600 but I refuse and slowly reduce and up when it allows as well as co-codamal.....I hate taking tablets but as I’ve been blessed with this brill ill health (yes sarcasm) i have to learn to rattle 😂 they don’t exactly work but I’m back in Aug to pain clinic so maybe after my long wait a wonderful miracle cure might have been found 😀😀😀 we live in hope and all that jazz!!
