I am in the ESA support group and receive £ 170 every two weeks. Is my wife entitled to a care allowance? Will this affect our financial benefits?

Hello Moo-123

Firstly you don't appear to be getting enough for your ESA support. Have yoo recently received this award?

Carers allowance can affect some means tested benefits but not ESA support.

Yes, I got it recently but what are the advantages you are talking about?

You should be getting £102 for ESA support.

I would go with Mdaisy answer and get advice from your CAB.

They will look at everything including any income you have and whether your wife can work.

Morning Moo-123

I wondered have you spoken to your local Citizen Advice Bureau via an appointment to talk about your specific financial circumstances as they can advise what you can claim or alternatively you can also ring Turn2Us who can also help with this too. Here's their website if you wish to do this turn2us.org.uk/

You may also link to speak to the FMAUK Benefits Advisor via the helpline, all contact information is within the link below including other useful websites links.

Hope the links help and you work out exactly what you are entitled to claim and how this works in your individual circumstances.

All the best

Emma :)
