Help with exhaustion

after doing even mild excercise I feel sweaty, breathless, totally drained. Does anyone have similar experience?

New to site this is my first post so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Beech25, welcome to the group. I also get very sweaty with any activity. This can quite embarrassing and awkward. It is a symptom of fibro and a side effect of the medication. I just have to cope as best I can. Wear cotton shirts. I can't wear woollen jumpers as I get too hot. Just find what works for you.

Take care of yourself

Hi Beech25, and welcome to the forum. I hope you find this a helpful place. Everyone is friendly and do their best to help when they can.

I am like you, if I do the least little thing I get hot, sweaty and feel totally exhausted. I just have to do things in very small segments, stop, have a rest and perhaps a cold drink, then do another little bit, and so on. x

Make sure you're well hydrated. I've also started adding more protein into my diet, in the hope that might combat the lack of energy--- it just seems to drain away as if someone's opened a tap.

Sadly I do too. I know I am a couple of stone overweight which does not help. But its so embarassing to be dripping from forehead and neck.

My Mum was the same until she lost 4 stone after bowel cancer and the sweating stopped.

Am trying to lose some too but harder when exercise is exhausting. Just walking is best for me.

I also get exhausted from just getting washed and cleaning my teeth. Drying my hair is awful what with the heat and the arms holding the hairdryer. I need to lie down afterwards. Can't believe how you just come over all hot and sweaty. It's like your body can't control its thermostat!

thats it --your thermostat need replacing but unlike a toaster we cant replace it lol .

i cant have a bath anymore it makes me feel really ill my heart starts to palpitate and i end up cooling down under the shower then collapsing in bed waiting for normal body feelings to return .---horrible .i cant get out the bath anymore anyway but if somones around to help it would be nice just to relax and soak away the aches and pains .not had one for years now

and yes the same when drying hair and trying to hang out washing etc .like my muscles dont get right messages so they go into spasms. i towel dry my hair and leave to air dry for a while reducing the time needed to use dryer ..then use straightners later when ive recovered .

if in a hurry if ive got an appointment etc i sit infront of kitchen unit with fan heater on . even used the tumble dryer hose at one point but got a condeneser one now - so i would have to lie on the floor to use the vent in the front .imagine what a laugh that would be if someone came in . its oky im not dead ust drying my hair ?????

have resorted on one occasion when the fan heater was not working to sitting infront of the fan oven with the door open . another bit of fibromyalgic madness. hope i made you smile with the pictures in your mind of me drying my hair!!!

Yes its an absolute nightmare to live with ! Have u asked yr doc for anythin to help ? I get a roll off with my monthly subscription to put on at bedtime an wash off in morning. Its not a miracle but minimises a little. Might help. Iv also researched what i can do to help myself as others say theres not alot we can do but il try anything ! Aparently lemons help to soak up sweat coza the acid in so im introducin lemons into my body everyday an also rubbin it on my body in the mornings and fan dry b4 getting dressed its worth a try but only doing the rub until its in my system also apple cider vinegar is spoze to help. A teaspoon each night in a cup of water but u cant do this my tummys too sensitive an caused alot of pain so im trying the lemons. Good luck in which ever u do. Also yes the material of clothing if u can recognise which materials to avoid will help an tight clothing is another to avoid. Altho i wear a vest under clothin jus to soak up sweat so it dont show thru so much on my loose tops but agen im also goin to try wear a base layer as these are spoze to be good for sports peeps fpr soakin up sweat 😊
