Hello all. My name is Fiona, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2003. Like many of you, I suffer from aches and pains in my hands, feet, shoulders back and legs. My body thermostat has gone crazy and I have hot flushes at least 6-8 times a day.(not menopause). I also have problems with double vision as the muscles in my left eye have become slack. I'm not sure whether this is due to my fibromyalgia but it is a real nuisance. The ophthalmologists have tried correcting my sight with prisms in my glasses but I still see double especially when trying to read frpm white boards etc.
A friend has just sent me an article (the link below) which explains that the main source of pain is in the blood vessels. Interesting reading! 👍😊 Do let me know what you think. Sorry about the adverts included in the article.
Before you get your hopes up, I’m so sorry to tell you this, that article has been doing the rounds in the press, and on here for a few years. ☹️☹️ You weren’t to know that, so thanks anyway for sharing.
It was a small study done in America, and nothing to my knowledge has ever come of it.
It really would be fantastic if someone could come up with a cure, or even a reliable treatment for Fibro. In the meantime we just have to keep on keeping on until they do.
I got Raynaud's 2 years ago out of the blue diagnosed before fibro. That causes vaso spasm in the micro circulation. So maybe fibro caused by similar thing
Hi. Don’t know about your double vision however my prescription glasses only last a max of six months before needing stronger ones. This is usually put down to my fibro. Also depending on the day (how bad) I sometimes just can’t see at all. Apparently my eyes can’t go crossed and it’s the same muscles that focus. I also have uterus muscle problems so I’m not allowed any more babies as there’s over 50% chance of my not surviving labour.
Seems like us warriors have to cope with muscle and other random problems x
When I originally read that report, it made some sense to me as my pain often comes in starbursts from my solar plexus, and of course there's the endless burning/tingling/numbness of extremities.
