Hello

Very recently been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Osteoarthritis. I am somewhat relieved as I have been suffering for about 9 years without a diagnosis.

I am worried about my job, I work in healthcare, very busy. I would like to go part time.. However cannot afford to. Does anyone know.. Is there any benefits that I could apply for in view of the condition. I still want to work, but, need to balance somehow.

Thank you

Hello Anita_1 I was with NHS until last year I took early retirement, in between waiting I reduced my hours and applied for E.S.A, look into that its a good system to help people like us, if you are in a Union get as much backing as you can from them, they helped me enormously.

Well your in the right place for help Best Wishes

Hi there Anita_1 and a very warm welcome to the group, I think that is good advice that our lovely Hidden has given. It is hard when you need to reduce your hours through ill health. But i am guessing they may be glad to offer some kind of monetary help to try and keep those who are already in work in a job good luck with your claim.

You may like to take a peak at our mother site it is full of great information you may find helpful. fmauk.org
