Everyone is different. Does the pain get better with heating pads or cold packs? And what about applying any pain relieving gels or patches? Are there any pills or oral pain meds left?

Some types of pain can be relieved by massaging the muscles and some connective tissue. Your partner can possibly direct you in this attempt to help. Sometimes soaking in a hot or warm salt bath helps. Epsom salts is recommended. Sometimes you can help simply by how you place pillows around your partner to position him/her so that his/her limbs are not angled in a painful way.

Now I am out of ideas but your partner may have some!

Lisajk- I was advised high proteins and very low fat diet..Lots of fish dishes as fish is brain food and will help to avoid "fibro brain fog" Pain clinics are good and should help you, ask about alternative therapies like hydrotherapy and acupuncture too.

Firstly thank you for coming on the forum asking for help for your partner as it is lovely to know you are such a caring person. The main thing with diet is to have a balanced decision me as we all need food from the various groups. Masses of fresh fruit and veg is good but sometimes some people find that acidic fruit such as oranges can make matters worse so it can be a case of trial and error. It is easy to out in weight when we are inactive so unfortunately we often have to scale down our portions. Adding spices that are antiinflammatory like Turmeric can help.

Others have given you good advice. Has he tried a Tens machine as that can really help some people. Try to get him to do some gentle exercise even slight stretches can help relieve some of the cramping pain. BonnieSue

Hi Lisajk83

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I have pasted for you below a link to our mother site, FMA UK which hosts loads of useful Fibro information:

I personally have a lot of food allergies, so it may be an idea to undertake a trial and error food testing at home by letting him eat something for a while and see how he feels. The stop this particular food stuff and see whether he feels better / worse as a result? I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken
