Hello from Nurse Gladys Emanuel- many people list this problem, they say it might be costochondritis! you need to tell your g.p, if it gets you to a panic then call a paramedic who will help you, they only take you to A&E if they can,t stabilise you.. Don't, suffer alone get help.

That sounds worrying . and that in itself can make it seem all the worse . it's usually something as simple as acid indigestion or gastric reflux . but if it continues or becomes enough of a concern you really must see a gp about it .

Yup, I know exactly how you feel. Sometimes mine gets to the point where I feel like I am suffocating and my hest feels very heavy when I breathe and can't catch that big breath that makes you feel better :( my nurse thinks it's asthma and taking a preventative inhaler does help a little but it doesn't take the suffocating feeling away. hope you get some help!

Hugs ,

Xx

Hi there

Anything chest related should always be checked over by your GP. I think it would be a great idea for you to make a routine appointment with your doctors so that you can get your chest listened to.

If you get any sudden pain in your chest don't hesitate to call 999 for an Ambulance.

There are chest conditions such as Costochondritis that many of us have suffered with here on the forum, but it is not our place to diagnose you as we are not health professionals.

Never take a chance with chest pain/issues. Always be on the safe side and get checked over.

Wishing you less pain and more peace

Hi

No I don't.

I have heard that sleep apnea can come with fibro, my husband has it and wears a mask with air blowing in it whilst asleep. He had sifficulty breathing during the day a while ago and they said it was because he wasn't getting enough air through his mask and needed a new one. Although he doesn't have fibro.

Do you think that you might have that or something like hay fever?

I'd see your dr anyway.

Take care and good luck.

Best wishes.

Always get anything like this checked out, never be afraid of calling assistance if you need it. Not all symptoms are down to fibro xx

Hi catlady123

I am so genuinely sorry to read that you are experiencing this issue and I sincerely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to this issue.

I suffer with asthma and COPD, so I have a nebuliser for when I feel that I cannot breathe properly and a C-PAP machine for night time. Please do not automatically assume that it will be Fibro related or a panic attack. Please always get checked out if you have any breathing problems or chest pain my friend, please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

When I had this my B12 was low, I'm on injections now and it's much better. It's a way your body is trying to get more oxygen into your lungs. It sometimes was worse at night, and felt like something was compressing my chest.

Hi Marliz, thanks for yours and everybodies replies, it is worse at night i dread having to get out (or rather crawl) to go to the loo as when i get back into bed my heart is beating so fast and i feel like someone is sitting on my chest, I'm on quite alot of medication so my doc tends to always say "it's the side effect"but now i'm getting an ache in my right shoulder and for a while cannot use my arm. On the upside the sun is shining today and that makes me feel better xx
