Hi,

I went gluten free to help with health issues but it won't be good as a weight loss thingy as gluten free food have more sugar, etc added to "improve" the taste. It only works if you avoid cakes, biscuits, etc and you'd lose weight anyway if you cut out sugar, etc without going gluten free.

Hope this helps.

Hugs

Hi csav73

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I have tried going gluten free as I am lactose intolerant and wondered if could help improve my health? The BBC have a really good section on gluten free recipes so I have posted the link below:

bbc.co.uk/food/diets/gluten...

I discussed the issue with my GP prior to commencing this and she told me it would take at least 2 to 3 months to notice any discernible improvement to either my health or show any signs that I was actually gluten intolerant. After 3 months I gave up as it did not make any difference to me whatsoever!

I have also pasted you the NHS Choices web page relating to Coeliac / Gluten Free and I hope that you find this useful:

nhs.uk/conditions/Coeliac-d...

I want to wish you all the best of luck with this.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

I went gluten free on the advice of the pain clinic - I am not coeliac, but show some symptoms of gluten sensitivity. I lost not one ounce and it made no difference to me at all. You may be different so it's always worth a try.
