You know somthing it looks like fun..love boating but with a max speed of 4mph on canals you cant get very far. With this you can drive to anywhere in the country then launch your whatever. I wonder what the cost would be. With a boat you have to have a waterways licence, an mot and pay moreing fees. but I d`know what they could charge on this?.....thinking about it you would proable have to pay caravan storage not moreings. unless of course you kept it in the water. But that would be silly

My last knowledge is there's no MOT for caravans but they are covered by construction and use regulations and must be roadworthy. Mooring fees same as for visitors. This one was launched on a slipway so that may be charged if it's private, and there aren't many on the system but any boat yard would be able to give it a lift for a fee. With having to find winter storage for only one vehicle it may be a viable alternative . It's a puddle jumper. As a caravan it's small enough to be kept at home. I think it was 4 berth.

As to speed, 1 and quarter miles per day! In 2007 it took us a week to get from Barton Turns to Ashby. 8 miles as the crow flies., mind it was Braunston festival :P

some people in the south uk ( glad i am north west ) could do with keeping one of these at hand. Seems every year the south gets hammered even worse. Must be terrible to live in a flood zone and not able to sell house and move.

My sad thought about that is some people choose to live there, some have little or no choice, just like fibromites. :(

At 220mtrs above sea level we dont have to worry but I do feel so sorry for people who are being flooded out, not just once but time and tjme again, My heart goes out to them sue

Well, personally I think it's a fantastic idea fenbadger! Does the trick really, what more can you say? At least if your are flooded you could float away....although I'm not too sure where you could end up!! The north Atlantic maybe?? :o XX

Would be a great adventure. . .

My lake is big enough to float it now, and more to come. Dyno rod just left and said southern water have to deal with it as it's right back to the main sewer, but at least I can flush my loo! With IBS that's a big blessing :P :P
