Look for the words contribution or income on the letter you have, then tell me which one you see.

You will either be on ESA WRAG (work related activity group) or ESA (support group) you can be on income related or contributory related. If you have been in employment you get the contributory payment( and it only lasts for 365 days), if you have never been in employment you get the income related payment which as far as I am aware is indefinate. I have been transferred from Incapacity benefit to the WRAG group ( contribution based) and I have been told that I will only get it for 365 days and will then have to apply again.I hope this makes a bit of sense to you. I am appealing to be put into the support group. Also all it said on my letter was that I was in the WRAG group there was no mention of anything else. It was when I went to the jobcentre for my first WRAG appointment that I was told it was only for 365days.
