Surrogacy question..

Hi all, I am new to this and I am needing some advice. Background is I am 34 and for literally half my life i have been trying to find out what is wrong with me and why in constant pain - I finally had my fallopian tubes taken out which has left me with IVF treatment, not a problem - only we were waiting on results from histology from some tissue samples taken and they have asked me to come back in as there is a high chance i need another operation - there are changes in my womb as well as the polyp on my ovary. So the polyp needs removing anyway...I am still recovering from my operation which happened over a month ago now.

Anyway, my friend of 23 years has always said since ive had this issue, that she would be a surrogate if i needed one. My partner and I have discussed this in depth and are happy - but a question came up about the legalities of her entitlement to the child if successful. My question is basically if we go through with the surrogacy with my best friend, does the hospital have forms for her to sign or anything like that?

Sorry to be a pain.

Hi, are you there?

Its really old thread but I am commenting just to know how it worked? I think this is a really amazing thing a best friend can do for her friend. There are clinics out there who are doing amazing work in this field. No doubt she is your friend but I think all this should be done through legal processes like a contract, agreement etc.

Hiya, it would be done through the legal system without a doubt. We haven't been able to do anything about it at mo as I was in a car accident in December and getting back on my feet has been a struggle.

Not what you're looking for?
