IVF - 10dpt symptoms gone

My first round of IVF & I am on 10dpt (5dt grade 1-2 blast) really really struggling with the 2ww, as I appreciate most people do.

I had some really sharp pain in right ovary area on 3dpt then AF type pain from 5-8dpt. Now nothing. Not getting any pain apart from if I jolt, cough or bend (my stomach muscles seem really tight).

I’ve had a couple of times where there has been a little bit of browny mucus but nothing other than that.

I know everyone’s different with symptoms and spotting so it’s impossible to know either way but I think it’s the fact that the AF type symptoms have stopped completely that’s bothered me. No pain, less bloated etc

I have endometriosis so I know this could also make things hard to read. I feel like it’s just the pessaries that has stopped AF from coming.

Anyway just looking for a bit of support through my last few days before test day.

Thanks

What was the embryo stage when transferred? At 3DPT the symptoms you mentioned can also be implantation, cramps and spotting. Symptoms could be appearing and disappearing anytime during the whole gestational period so I wouldn't consider that any negative really.

As far as I read you haven't checked it on an HPT. 10DPT usually you can get a faint positive if you have happened to conceive but then I'd also say it's best to wait till the OTD. Nope, if there's really a BFN and AF has to arrive then the pessaries cannot really refrain it for long. Nothing is concluded yet so there's definitely the equal amount of chance of success.... never forget that. Optimism often makes it all good. Wish you all the luck in the world!

Thank you for replying.

I was feeling very negative previously but am starting to feel more positive as time goes on.

It was a day5 blastocyst - 2 days after it was transferred I got really sharp pains for a good few hours, 3rd day a bit better, 4th-8th day AF type pain on and off. Much less yesterday and today. I know I shouldn’t read too much in and should try to stay positive. Hard though after an ectopic, Endo surgeries, blocked tubes and years of fails. I just don’t trust my body to get it right this time :(

Just wanted to say I’m with you. Also on 2WW and finding it difficult not to read in to symptoms based on my past negative experiences. I can relate to what you said about finding it hard trusting your body. What is your OTD? It sounds like you can’t be far off (although I appreciate every day feels like forever!). Wishing you the best of luck for a positive result lovely xx

Hey Picalilli, trust me the 2WW is the worst wait you can anticipate. The good thing is you're taking it all so sportily and even sharing the same with others on the same boat. When we're on TTC it seems that just the wait to get some successful news tuns you insane... the 2WW is even terrible. I hope you get a BFP on your OTD. Good Luck!

Thanks Picalilli

Hard to wait but I guess we need to think 2 weeks is short compared to pregnancy.

My otd is Wed, so nearly there. How about you?

Crossing fingers & toes for you too! X

I totally understand your point... I guess almost all women here in this forum do the same. When you've already been through a long struggle on the fertility road all you see first is the chance of odds. Even when everything seems alright we just tend to worry about it all. Sadly, the pregnancy symptoms offer much confusion into it all. Being progesterone-induced both the pregnancy and PMS tends to have same indication but I can tell you that your situation still looks like there's a chance of everything turning out just the way you have waited for it to. I'd insist on not indulging on reading too much online blogs... they give mixed opinion reviews. I think me and PP both have somewhat the same opinion. So just simply bank on your optimism and wait for the OTD. Sending love and lots of good luck! Will look forward to your update.

Hi both

Just to give you an update - I tested yesterday and it was positive.

I’ve done 3 tests to be sure and all positive.

Thank you for the advice and kind words.

Hopefully everything will work out going forward.

Picalilli - how long have you got left? I have everything crossed for you xx

Great news! Congratulations on getting your bfp you must be over the moon! Thanks, my OTD from clinic is Mon, but it seems longer than other clinics (16dp2dt) I know it needs to be longer due to it being only a 2 day transfer but that seems ridiculous! So I’m going to try and hold out until Sun when my OH will be there too 🤞. xx

I think we are out sadly. Tested last night and this morning with FRER and both negative. Will have to keep doing injections unfortunately and test again on Mon but it is not looking good for us. Absolutely gutted 😢 x

So sorry for the delayed reply I managed to lose my password/ couldn’t log in.

Really sorry to read this Picalilli. Hope you manage to get a consultants appointment quickly to discuss how best to move forward. Do your clinic offer counselling at all? Might be worth looking at, it’s such a hard disheartening process to go through.

Sending a hug x

Hi Loopy! Was your first try of IVF? I am starting my procedure on 31 October. Progynova 8mg every eavening , Meriofert 300mg for 5 days than scan..

What medication have you taken? How big were your follicles when they trigger you? This is my worries , as I think NHS have a different protocol than some other clinics, they trigger a bit to quick when a follicles reaches 14-16mm, so they might not be enough mature.. OMG , I read such a lot of information on fertility stull, I might become an expert soon...just kidding, otherwise I will cry:).

I am so stressed about this journey and outcome as well!

fingers crossed for you , hope everything will go very well.xxxx

Hi Hope, sorry for the delayed reply.

Yes it was my first round. I was on buseralin (sp?) for nearly 3 weeks to downgrade my system & ease the endometriosis. Then was on Menopur for about 9 days till gonasi trigger.

They measured follicles every other day and on the Thursday they said I had one at 18mm (which I think was actually endo/fluid) and a couple at 15-16 so they’d trigger early to collect on the Sat.

Personally I think they rushed it because they didn’t want to leave me over the weekend. As a result, while they initially got 14 eggs only 4 were ready/ mature.

I felt incredibly deflated to lose 10 in 24 hours. Then only 2 of the 4 fertilised. We were fortunately very very lucky that both of these progressed to day 5 blastocysts so we had 1 transferred and 1 frozen.

I am by no means an expert but if an extra couple of days had meant more of those 10 matured I’d rather have done that in the hope of getting more frozen options if this doesn’t work out.

But all of our bodies are different so I do appreciate it’s impossible to know what’s the right thing to do - especially first cycle.

It’s very easy for me to say but stressing about it all (and believe me I really have!) has not made a difference to my outcome. What will be will be and so far we’ve been really lucky. Try not to over read too much or get too worked up as like I say your body is completely different to mine and indeed to everybody else’s.

Wishing you lots of luck & dust xx

Hi Loopy!

Many thanks for reply! You had a good number of follicles and is shame that you didn’t manage to freeze more ( just in case ). Hope you don’t need it , How is your AMH level ? I know about NHS they rush to trigger you and this is worries me ,

Sorry I have no idea about AMH. Can’t recall ever being told.

I can ask what it is/ what mine was at my viability scan :)

Loopy9 in reply to Hope9931

Sorry I may be getting confused is it to do with follicle count? If it is my count was 14.

I’ve just turned 36 :)

Hope9931 profile image
Hope9931 in reply to Loopy9

AMH is about ovarian reserve. Mine is 9.7 which they said is good considering my age ! . Do you know how many follicles you had on your initial scan without taking any medication?

You are much younger than me do better chances ! Which hospital you went ? I am at Homerton In London!

Loopy9 profile image
Loopy9 in reply to Hope9931

I had 14 follicles at initial scan. More at stim but not sure how many.

I’m at Care Fertility

Hope9931 profile image
Hope9931 in reply to Loopy9

Waw ! So you had a really good number ! At my first scan without stimulation I had 7 so half .

I had a consultation at Care and 2 IUI unsuccessful , We wanted to try NHS as we are entitled to 1 free cycle and Care is terrible expensive. One round of IUI no medication 900 gbp , XX

Loopy9 profile image
Loopy9 in reply to Hope9931

No I didn’t. I was on buserelin for nearly 3 weeks to down grade me then Menopur. Gonasi trigger then utrogestan pessaries since just after collection. That’s all.

Sorry I don’t know anything about progynova

Hope9931 profile image
Hope9931 in reply to Loopy9

Hi Loopy ! Thanks for your response. I did a research and Buseralin is similar with Progynova.

How are you ? How is your pregnancy going ? Are you feeling ok ?

I’m good. Had our viability scan on Wed saw baby and heartbeat. Saw the midwife yesterday. It’s starting to sink in now!

Nauseous every day but midwife says it’s a good sign as my hormones will be going crazy right now.

12 week scan seems an age away but every week that passes I feel more hopeful :)

Hi Loopy! Really happy for you ! Really emotional moments now . Did you hear as well the heartbeat 💗 ? I think this this the most beautiful moments in women’s life...

I read on Carefertility website they can do 10 weeks scan to detect the chromosomes abnormality. Just check with them . So you don’t have to wait until 12 weeks. 😘😘

Hope everything will continue to go really well and your sickness will disappear soon .
