Risk of multiple follicles OIUI

Hi All

Last ovulation induction treatment I only managed to produce one follicle, I’m thinking of increasing medication to try for at least two but that comes with the risk of having more than that and treatment getting cancelled.

Was wandering what other people’s experience is with this and if you would recommend or not?

I think they are normally very happy with one, two at the most. When I tried IUI, I had 2 out of 3 cycles cancelled because I had more follicles than that, so if you increase meds, you may end up with that too.

they are very happy with just one for IUI. If you want to increase your chances of success I would move to IVF rather than up your meds on IUI as it can be very easily cancelled its such a fine line. I found IVF just the same as medicated IUI only thing extra was the egg collection and that was no problem at all. Much much better odds of success if that’s what you are aiming for xx

With IUI they are really only looking for 1 or 2 good sized follicles as they are wanting a measured response If meds increased too many follicles may grow and the cycle would have to be cancelled Speak to your clinic about your concerns

I’m on a cycle now and there’s 3 possibly 4 as we increased the meds and they let me continue because my issue in the past has been egg quality and I have low amh so chances of 3 or 4 sticking are low
