anyone experience 1PN and 3PN embryos on day 1? Never had this before, do they have very low chance of developing to blast? I’m so devastating , I regret I didn’t use ICSI instead but lab told me even ICSI can’t avoid this, any advice? Thank you!

Hi. These embryos often get fertilised by more than one sperm. I would have thoughtIICSI would prevent it happening again. Over to the embryologist. Thinking of you. Cdiane
on the day of our transfer we had a 4PN alongside 2 4AA blasts and we chose to let the 4PN go, the clinic couldn’t confirm that it had fertilised correctly as it hadn’t been captured on camera & said that transfer had a high probability of not working. I had never heard of a PN before so did some research. we had a high abnormal fertilisation rate so they said if needed we would have to have ICSI next time but obviously they don’t know this until it’s done x wishing you well on your journey 💞
I had a 3PN embryo once with ICSI. Multiple sperm fertilisation is not the only reason you can get a 3PN embryo, so it can happen with ICSI as well. Spoke to embryologists at a time. They said that they still keep them until the blastocyst stage but advise to PGT-A test them. I believe around 30% of them would be genetically normal. My 3PN ended up being a 5CC on day 6, was PGT-A tested, but ended up being an aneuploid.
