After 3 failed transfers (5 embryos) since last November me and my husband did another round of EC, and genetically tested the 5 blasts we had, we have got 2 / 5 genetically perfect embryos. because of no obvious genetic issues we didn’t want to transfer either without further tests at ARGC - including the immunology tests, which include NK cells.
these have also come back in the middle of the ‘normal’ range.
Have we just been unlucky? Would you have further tests? I am not sure we can mentally go through another failed transfer - I strangely feel disappointed that nothing has come back abnormal because then at least we would have had a reason why the other 5 didn’t stick.
does anyone have any advice? Thank you!

Sorry to hear of your transfers so far - it's so heartbreaking.
That is so good that you have 2 euploid embryos. I completely understand the disappointment in not having any obvious issues to resolve. It's a tricky thing to deal with.
As you got 2 out of 5, statistically it could just be that your previous transfers were just not chromosomally correct. So you can either try again and hope that this was the issue.
Or you start going down the add-ons rabbit hole.
We had 3 failed transfers before I did extra testing - I did the ERA/ALICE/EMMA which showed my window of implantation was out by 24 hours. I did have high NK cells so added steroids and did PGT-A testing - and those combined (I think) got us our BFP.
Having said that, I did 2 more transfers this year with exactly the same protocol and they both failed - apparently even PGT-A embryos can just not have enough energy to implant - even if the conditions are perfect. Third transfer, exactly the same - BFP....
So ultimately it's such a gamble, and you have to have a real think through what you think might be worth testing / not testing.
Thank you - it’s a huge gamble! We will definitely be asking the clinic about the Emma/ Alice /Era tests, I feel like that’s the only way forward now. Thank you x
Hello, it’s a long shot but I had 3 failed transfers when my 4th was cancelled as they saw liquid on a scan. That led to a laproscopy where they discovered I had a blocked fallopian tube. It turns out this can lead to liquid which can attack embryos preventing implantation. After my tube was removed we had a successful transfer. It unfortunately ended in miscarriage but it does seem to have made the difference with me. Since removing the tube I’ve had two miscarriages an a failed transfer so I still need to do more investigations to understand what’s causing the miscarriages but I can now atleast get pregnant! Wishing you the best of luck
might be worth a microbiome test? They aren’t as expensive as some of the other add ons and potentially easier to fix any issues it reveals with probiotics or antibiotics. It’s so frustrating and heartbreaking not having answers as to why it’s not working x
didn’t want to read and run. Just want to say how much I sympathise with you. We have had 4 transfers of 5 embryos since November with all failures (May we had a chemical from a double transfer) hoping the egg collection I had on sat produces something to transfer Thursday but starting to feel like maybe I’m wrong transferring anymore. My heart really goes out to you it’s such a horrible uncertain feeling. I’ve had steroids in the last round as I have auto immune diseases but I also suffer from thin likings so think I’ve got too may problems combined. Praying you get your answers and have some success soon xxx
Thank you lovely, it’s just so tough to know what to do next at the moment I feel like I’m wasting time but not quite ready to do another transfer incase it doesn’t work again,
I have don’t steroids the last two transfers, but since found out no raised NK cells etc so they weren’t needed.
Keep going!!! Took me 7 transfers and 10 embryos and I’m now 21 weeks pregnant. No known issues, although embryos not tested, but from 20 year old donors. The one that worked for me was modified natural with Bondi protocol - clexane and prednisolone. X
Hi, I had 4 failed transfers, then did the EMA, Alice and ERA. This found I needed lots of probiotics and an extra 30 hours of progesterone before transfer. With these adjustments my 5th transfer worked and I’m now 22 weeks pregnant x
