Positive pregnancy test after miscarriage?

Morning all the lovely ladies, I did my test on Friday and repeated today, they both are positive after the miscarriage 4 weeks ago and second part of miscarriage 2 weeks ago, as I had tissues left and clinic advised to wait for 2 weeks to see if they leave my body naturally. Hope this makes sense... so 2 weeks ago my body released the remaining tissues and I was told to do the pregnancy test today. It is still positive, although kinda faint...cannot get through the clinic. Will try calling them again. What does this mean? I feel perfectly fine in myself.

Hi Hope. It seems to me that your hormones are finally quietening down after your unfortunate miscarriage. Check again in a couple of days to see if it has reduced more. Thinking of you. Diane

It can take quite a long time to go down and go completely, and it depends what your HCG levels were initially and when you passed the tissue. If it hasn't gone when they've asked you to test though and you had retained tissue I'd ask them to check your HCG as until that gets to zero (or at least below 5) it could be a sign that there's still some tissue left over and they may need to manage that as it can cause problems or get infected. Hopefully it's nearly gone and it's just taking a bit of time but worth asking.
