Repeat Implantation Failure at St Barts - after how many do they do any more investigations? If at all

Hi, anybody else wo did IVF at St Barts in London being NHS funded and had repeaded implantation failure?

Any idea how many failed implantations do you need until they do any other investigations - like hysterescopy, endometrial byopsy, etc? Do they do any at all, or do they just keep doing the same thing until you burn through the funding?

They keep telling me it's likely the embryos but we had good grade embryos, and won't look at any other causes.

Any recommendations for serious private clinics in London where I can do further investigation (like a hysteroscopy)? Do you know if they will even consider it if I do it in private?

If mentioning clinics by name or costings please use PM Might be worthwhile asking about low dosage soluble aspirin and /or heparin to ensure good blood flow to womb This may encourage implantation Also try fertility message , gentle exercise - swimming/ walking - to encourage blood flow

Hei JA-fnuk thank you very much for the suggestions. I am already on clexane and aspirin (150mg/day) because I have a blood clotting problem. so far, it doesn't seem to have made a difference.

From what I've read, next steps would be hysterescopy and/or laparospcopy to look closer at the uterus and endometrium, but the doctors simply ignored me when I asked about it. Haven't tried fertility massage but I will. at this point I will try pretty much anything.

Hello,

I am not in your situation 100% but I understand what you are saying.

In my case I am in Spain and I started with the Spanish NHS, the first transfer was successful and I got pregnant, but we had to terminate the pregnancy because my water broke in week 17. After that with them I had 4 failed implantation attempts and that's when they sent me for a hysteroscopy, and to see the haematologist. Everything was fine so I had the last embryo transfer and it was not successful either.

I decided to visit private clinics to try to understand what other specialists could advise me and they all agreed on the same thing: the blastocysts need to be genetically tested. The social security told me that they didn't do that, so my husband and I didn't think it was logical to keep doing the same thing over and over again. Now we are in a private clinic and they told me to repeat the haematologist's tests and to make an appointment with an immunologist specialising in fertility. The immunologist when she saw all my history told me that sometimes the medical community is very inflexible when it comes to confirming certain cases, but she saw in my case that I had to take eparin, aspirin and other medication to make the blood flow better.

My gynaecologist sent me some vitamins with probiotics, because she thinks that the intestinal flora is also important.

Clearly certain medical services are great because they are free and if the treatment works with them, it's fantastic. But in cases that are out of the norm, sometimes we have no choice but to go to centres where we have to pay and where we can get more personalised treatment.

I'm sorry it was so long, but I hope I've helped you.

Good Luck
