Embryos that only have 1 pronuclei

Hi my fellow ivf warriors,

Just had my egg collection yesterday and managed to get 3 eggs.

Just had the call with the embryologist and all 3 fertilised BUT 2 only have 1 pronuclei. Only one fertilised as "normal" with 2 pronuclei.

My clinic is willing to grow them to day 5 to see if this develops as some research shows some pregnancies are still possible.

Does anyone have any success stories for embryos with only 1 pronuclei? Did they survive to day 5 and were they chromosome normal?

Thanks

HI Anisha. Well, I suppose I would go for the healthy embryo, in case the other two don’t catch up. Your embryologist will advise you wisely, so go with what he/she advises, as they want success too. Thinking, and hope all progresses as it should. Diane
