I’m taking Syranel (nafarelin) nasal spray for down reg. I’ve been taking it for 11 days now and my period is two days late. Has anyone had this experience with Syranel? How late was your period, or did it come on time?
Really frustrating having delays during the IVF journey! My doctor seemed to think it was strange that my period would be late, said she’s not seen that happen with down reg medication before.

Hey I noticed no-one replied to this 🙃 I found your post as I'm struggling to find any info on this at all! I've been taking syranel for 10 days now and haven't had a bleed at all. I've got bad cramps this eve but still no bleeding. My form says even if I don't bleed I need to go for the down reg scan in 2 weeks but I'm thinking something is definitely wrong with no withdrawal bleed? How was everything for you in the end? Xx
Oh I’m sorry to hear. My period did come a few days later so I think in the end it was only like 4 days late. But then I had an ovarian cyst at the baseline scan so couldn't start my stims in any case.
My doc switched me on to buserelin and that helped the cyst go and I started my stims after that. So in the end the delay was only like 10 days or so due to both delayed period and cyst. I completed the cycle and despite only getting 1 egg, I am now 21 weeks pregnant!
I did find lots of posts on various forums and found many women saying that down reg medications delayed their periods, but they all got a bleed in the end! Hopefully those cramps are a good sign and your bleed will come very soon.
Omg AMAZING!! So chuffed for you ♥️♥️ Thanks for taking the time to respond ☺️ I'm hoping it comes later but if not I'll ring the nurse tomorrow as something might need reviewing! Xx
