Help.. Chemical Pregnancy

Hi everyone,

Looking for some advice/thoughts. My partner and I are a same sex couple. Over the last 7 years I have had 7 rounds of ivf.

Our last cycle in November ended with a failed fresh transfer and one high level mosaic that they have recommended we don’t use.

Our cycle in Jan gave us 3 embryos- 2 PgT normal. Transferred one- got a positive 4 days post transfer. Initial beta was 110- were told everything is looking good. The next day it dropped to 90 then 80 and is now at 40. They have told us it is a chemical pregnancy. We are so heartbroken and had no idea PgT normal embryos could not work.

We would love to know what to be asking our specialist- any testing? Changes to cycle? Should we be giving up hope?

thank you so much for your replies in advance 💛

hello I hope your ok. I had 2 chemicals with pgt tested embryos. They then did the era Alice and Emma test which showed I needed an extra day of progesterone so transfer should be day 6 instead of day 5. I’m not sure if you have had those tests but they definitely helped us xxx

Hi lovely,

So sorry to see this - it's so rough.

I've just had 2 PGT-A tested embryos fail and am at a bit of a loss too. But I read about it and apparently even with all the right conditions sometimes they just don't have the energy to keep dividing, and like a natural pregnancy they don't always progress. Sucks but it seems like it's more common than I thought.

Hope you're doing ok.

Like Boo718 says, the ERA is a good test to have and also maybe your immune cells. I had both done and I'm sure they contributed to our 6th transfer working.

Sending a big hug xx

Hi, I've had similar experiences. I transferred 9 untested and 1 PGT-A normal embryo. They all failed or ended in chemicals. I'd encourage you to look into giving your mosaic a chance. I finally had success after transferring two of my mosaics (I got twins), this was transfer of embryos #11 and #12 for me. There is a FB group "My Perfect Mosaic Embryo" that has thousands of success stories, and links to research. All mosaics can be transferred, just some clinics are behind the times. Just my two cents. All the best to you xx
