Hello all,
I've got the outcome on the number of blastocysts frozen with donor eggs in Prague and partner's sperm -
Fully-expanded blastocysts:
Day 5 4/AA
Day 6 4/AA
Day 6 4/AA
Hatching blastocyst
Day 6 5/AA
I am super grateful 🙏 and relieved that I have some in the freezer as only 5 fertilised from 12 collected, 9 mature. Also the grades look top.
However I'm slightly concerned they are mainly day 6, which I think statistically have slightly poorer outcomes.
I did have poor fertilisation and slow development with my own eggs, but did get my daughter from a day 6 blastocyst ❤️
I just presumed donor eggs would reach blastocyst by day 5 as my donor was 24 years old. I'm wondering if it could be down to a sperm issue? I always thought slow development was down to poor energy in older eggs and mitochondrial issues.
I am hoping to transfer one, but am worried it might not thaw ok and then it would be a wasted trip, or would they have chance to defrost another on the same or next day?
I will ask the clinic but they are slow at getting back.
Hope everyone is doing well on their journey's xx
