We have been ttc for over 2 yrs now after I came off the pill which I was on for over 7 yrs. We've had a miscarriage and a few chemicals. All our test results have come normal and we are both healthy in our early 30s. We don't drink or smoke and eat healthy. My hycosy showed that everything was normal. Clear tubes and high egg reserve I was told. Partner's sperm analysis came out normal as well. We've had one round of letrozole and the day 21 bloods showed that it was at 43 which is really good apparently. After trying letrozole once my cycle has become a normal 30 day cycle instantly for the first time since I came off the pill. We tried every other day since cd7 yet it has failed. Our fertility consultant called it unexplained infertility and that it's inconclusive and we just have to keep trying.
Atm I'm on my second cycle of letrozole and just had my first follicle scan done. I was told it's measuring smaller than they expected and the womb lining is thinner than they expected at day 10 but assured me everything was normal and asked me to repeat the scan in a couple of days.
I'm really worried it's going to fail again. Just looking for some info and positive experiences to ease my mind.
I do realise it's not an easy journey and I need to be more patient but I can't shake off this feeling that something must be wrong for it to keep failing. Tbh it'll be easier for me to cope if I know what the issue is at least.
I'm hoping to get some insight from others who have had similar experiences and any suggestions are welcome too.
Thanks 🙂

hello! May I ask if you have had a sperm dna fragmentation test? We had a “normal” if not excellent sperm analysis, but the dna frag test showed a high fragmentation rate, so now we need PICSI. It really helped explain some of the unexplained, and it wasn’t terribly expensive! We also did karyotype testing just to rule everything out.
Thank you for your reply. Tbh my consultant is not interested in doing further tests on my husband atm as I had very long irregular cycles until my first cycle of letrozole which was last month. I was told if this second cycle fails they will do further tests. They are more focused on me right now since they initially suspected I'm not ovulating regularly. I've got another scan tomorrow which is cd14 to check if my follicles have grown and my womb lining thickened. If they are happy with my results then I could suggest a sperm dna fragmentation test. Thank you so much for the info 😊
Hi, just wanted to say your situation seems quite similar to mine. I'm also in my early 30s and had been on pills for 11-12 years before I came off, after which I had a very long and irregular cycles. Not successful when trying natuuly for a few years. At my first scan the folicles were found small and the lining thin (and uterus itself was also fairly small but told nothing to be concerned about). I was just told that some people are naturally like that. I have tubal issues so am currently going through IVF and again my folicles seem to be developing rather slowly, although again I've been told to not worry. Anyway I'm so sorry I can't give you any advice or shate positive experience but I do understand your concern and just wanted to say I'm with you and sending you lots of good wishes x
Thank you for sharing your experience Bella. I'm sorry we aren't any comfort to each other but I'm glad we at least understand what it's like for each other. I really hope it works for you and hoping to hear your positive story very soon 💜
