Hey - has anyone done a vaginal microbiome screening? Interested to hear whether this went on to success with IVF?

I’ve got a Screen Me test on the way so just curious to hear from others who have done similar xxx

Thanks for getting back to me. That’s brilliant news. I’m happy to try whatever I can to try and conquer this. Really hope the test gives me some answers x

Hi yes I did through a company in Greece before they were doing much testing in the UK. My partner and I were given some strong antibiotics and I was then put on probiotics. I can’t say for sure this led to my successful IVF round but I think it helped x

That’s good to know! Have you had success since? Xx

Yes. I needed IVF in the end but currently 33 weeks pregnant. I think sometimes it’s a combination of different things but the evidence seems to suggest that the microbiome plays a big part. Acupuncture and a low inflammation diet also helped me x

I have heard about this test, but never done it. Is it done like endometrial biopsy? Heard that some couples after results and treatment for the bad vaginal microbial had success. I am curious for further information...

It’s not as invasive as a biopsy, it’s a swab that you do at home and then send off to the lab. Xx

I did a vaginal microbiome test and found out I had no good bacteria (this was after two failed transfers) so I then took vaginal and oral probiotics and a few months later did the ALICE/EMMA test and it showed I had plenty of good bacteria. And my next transfer worked (we did quite a lot differently though and I was on immune drugs) so I don’t know if it made all the difference but it certainly made some difference!

Are you able to share what probiotics you took please

I used the Canesflor vaginal ones and ‘Invivo bio me femme V’ orally.
