The Hook Effect ?!

So as a serial tester I have been a bit worried over the past few days as felt that the lines on my tests were getting a little lighter (At one point they were much stronger than the control)

So I did a little experiment, Top line is a test with undiluted urine & the Bottom line is a test with 50% water / 50% urine. You can see that clearly the bottom is much darker… so is this the hook effect ?! I have read that from around 6/7 wks your body starts producing a different type of HCG which doesn’t work so well with the testing.

For context I am 7wks 5days & had our 1st scan last Friday & saw a lovely strong beating heart 💞

My symptoms to this point have been sore boobs, mild cramping, lower back ache & a tiny bit of nausea.

Just sharing as TTC / IVF is a funny old thing & navigating all the questions early pregnancy throws up is hard
