I'm having my first FET in a couple of days and would love to get some advice from anyone who would like to share their experience.
I'm quite excited, but also trying to be realistic; I know that the first time round might not stick. I've had a very positive experience with my stimulation, a little less so with all hormones preparing for the transfer, but trying to stay positive. I've noticed I tend to get much more stressed about work etc., everything in my professional life seems to be causing me anxiety from which I'm having trouble sleeping. This makes me anxious that I'm not 'relaxed' enough for the embryo to implant... I know it sounds silly but I'm now basically stressed about being stressing. Has anyone else experienced this and found ways to deal with it?

I’d say don’t read anything about statistics and don’t think any twinge or sore boobs or symptom in general is pregnancy or period, it’s usually the pessary side effects. That’s helped me, telling myself it’s not on thing or the other it’s the medication. The transfer for me was pretty chilled, and then after you are just like…is that it?!
With work I can’t really help, I’ve just got stuck in and it’s helped me not think about the outcome, I also think the decision has already been made to be honest when the egg has fertilised and got to blast, I might be wrong there but that’s been my outlook. Do work know you are going through this?
Look after yourself, and don’t test early! Hope that helps
Thank you so much for your comment, that really helped me to put it in perspective; looking at work as some form of distraction can introduce a nice balance. I'm contracting at a few places so it would be slightly convoluted to start sharing my IVF journey as there is a few companies I work with, but I did consider taking to one of them. Anyways, thanks so much for the support ❤️
Hi bear panda, that is very exciting but yes like you I too was very nervous and anxious of the wait, are you currently off work? As they can give you a sick note after transfer? Which should help with stressing over work, tbh with you I was worried too about my work but I came to the realisation that this is about me and that work really in the light of things doesn’t matter all that much compared to what I’m going through as it is hard.
My advice for the two week wait is definitely dont test before the day they’ve told you to! And really take this time to chill as much as you can like rest and put on your fav movie or box set or read a book youve been waiting to read, as keeping busy will help but then giving time to you is especially important at this time, please give work a back seat. I wish you all the best for your FET and I really hope you get the result you want 🤗 xx
Hi BearPanda. Oh bless you, yes, it’s such an anxious time. Try and keep busy and rest just a little. Drink plenty of water, and eat some pineapple! Keep up with any prescribed medication and maybe try new recipes. Oh I wish you well. Diane
Hi! I am sorry to hear you are stressed. This is quite normal, I think. Something that really helped relax me in the run up to my second FET was fertility reflexology. It is not recommended after transfer though. Very best of luck with your transfer!
