Thinner lining on transfer day

Hello everyone, I’d really appreciate your experiences.

I’ve had a FET today on a natural cycle. 7 days ago my lining was 11.4mm and today for the transfer it was 7.2mm. Has anyone else seen a drop off like this?

I asked the doctor and she said it could be that the lining has compacted and that above 7mm is ok.

I’m mainly worried about the drop off being so high and I’d like to stop it dropping off more.

The doctor reluctantly gave me a prescription for hrt tablets to thicken thelining, but she doesn’t think it will help / but equally said it can’t hurt. She couldn’t say if it would help for me to take it or not. I’ve come home and decided not to take them, I’m already on a cocktail of meds and think it would be better to stick to my protocol

Have you seen a thinner lining on transfer day? Did it affect your results? Has anyone else been prescribed drugs to thicken the lining after a FET?

Hi Poppygarden. Yes, I believe you are still in with a chance, but would have thought you progesterone and/or oestrogen would have been prescribed. Still it is a bit of extra something. Good luck. Diane

It did happen to me, the lining shrunk after progesterone intake. It is not very common but can happen. My transfer ended in a chemical but I wouldn't link to that. If I was you I would have taken the tablets as they don't do any harm and your body definitely need them now. My doctor also increased my estrogen dosage. I was successful with the following transfer.

Just to say good luck with the transfer! I drank lots of pomegranate juice (a cup a day) with my last FET and had a thicker lining than with my first FET, where I only took progynova.

Same happened to me a fortnight ago.

My transfer was cancelled, mine had shrunk to just under 6. It was ok 5 days prior and had started progesterone.

The consultant said that progesterone compacts the lining. So they expect it to look thinner, mine was below the threshold. Couldn’t give me any reason why mine had shrunk.
