Natural cycle better uterus lining?

Hi,

I am in the middle of egg collection and frozen ebryo transfer. I have read somewhere that artificial cycles used for egg collection may result in worse uterus lining compared to natural cycles. Has anyone have experience with that? My doctor left it to me to decide for further egg collection and fresh embryo transfer or frozen embryo transfer with natural cycle.

I have no idea what to do.

I would appreciate any contribution.

Warmest wishes to all.

I did natural FET (got positive urine test but OTD is 26th, wish me luck) and clinic never offered medicated one because my periods are very regular and all tests were normal. I do not know how it goes with medicated but natural is easy. I did have modifications - they put me on letrozole for 5 days (supposedly helps with preparing lining), then I had US and bloods every day starting day 10 (went for 3 in total) and then I triggered with ovidrel (supposedly bHCG also helps with prep lining for embryo) and had transfer 7 days after trigger. No progesterone, they tested my levels one day before transfer and they were great. They were checking uterine lining and when it reached 7mm and my progesterone was low and LH was also low (started to move just a bit) they had me trigger ovulation. My leading follicle was 21mm (it was ready for trigger from day 10 but lining and hormones were not) but we didn’t care about follies this time. I think that the worst part with natural is that you have lots of checks (and I’m afraid of needles so daily blood draws were not fun but at the end is not such a big deal). Trust your doctor, I’m sure he knows what’s best for you! For IVF all they care is good follies and for FET they care about lining 😅

personally for me, yes. With medicated FET cycles I always needed a really high dose to get to even 7.5-8mm - on a natural cycle I got to 10.5 💪 got my BFP.

Fresh transfers are different - I did get good lining for fresh transfers because of all the hormones, but depending on which trigger they use some triggers are not great for the lining , and sometimes your body has been through so much it’s not always optimal for implantation. I did get a BFP on a fresh cycle too…. x

Yes, My lining is always much better with natural cycle than on a medicated. Plus it's much less stressful/painful and cheaper due to less meds. I would recommend x

the only time we tried a medicated FET my lining did not thicken at all. During natural FETs my lining was always good!
