Does anyone have any experience of natural IVF or natural modified IVF? Wondering how this impacts on the costs… I think success rate is lower so may need more cycles but is the cost per cycle cheaper than normal IVF? I know drug cost will be lower but do clinics also charge less for the main part of the costs? I’m getting anxious about the money side of things and got to wait until May for our nurse consultation. We have been given cost estimates but these are all for standard IVF and we are considering natural or natural modified. I’m thinking we may need more cycles so this approach is only affordable if cost per cycle is less.

Natural IVF / Natural modified IVF costs
Hi, yes I did a 3 cycle package of NM IVF about 5 years ago. It was 16k and included only 1 transfer. The idea being, you do 3 rounds to collect whatever you can over 3 treatments and freeze it, then transfer the best of what you get at the end. If you are lucky enough to get several quality embryos you can keep them on ice and transfer at a later point.
It seemed like a good idea becuase I was told I'd likely need several rounds, and that my low AMH meant I might not respond to full dose ivf. I did get 1 good embryo from the 3 rounds, total fails on the other 2.
I did subsequently do 1 round of full ivf, which cost about 8k, and didn't work. I felt I had to try!
The only thing that is cheaper between the 2 is the drugs you take.
I know it's such a difficult decision, and it will depend a bit what your hormone profile is looking like. If you could afford it, you could consider 1 round of NM and one round of full stimm to see how you react to each.
Very best wishes xx
Hannah1589 can I ask what decision you made in the end if you don't mind sharing? I'm currently researching about natural and mild IVF options and it sounds positive but not sure if it's too good to be true x
