Hello everyone, my first post here so go easy on me please...

So today, my wife found out that the latest round of IVF had failed. As you can imagine, we're a bit cut up about it., but are thinking about going abroad for treatment. The wife found a place in Greece - Ark IVF. Just wondering if anyone else here has tried using them, and what their experience with them was?

Hi I've spoken to a couple of IVF clinics including ARK. No experience of actual IVF cycles yetOther Greek clinics I've been in contact with are Serum, New Life and Embryoclinic.

We are close to committing to a round with Serum, as they invited us to visit for tests and found some potential issues.

No experience of ARK but be careful if going abroad. Overseas clinics may not be as well regulated so some clinics can have dodgy practices. Also I have come across several people who have had early pregnancy issues which probably needed medication changes but they had no support from their clinic... logistically its near impossible to get extra medication, scans and bloods when you are in a different country to the one you are having treatment in. That's not to say you won't have a great experience just these are important things to consider.

Hello there,

I can’t speak for ARC but I have spoken to people with them and they are pleased. Have a look as there may be a Facebook group.

I’ve gone to Prague for treatment (now donor eggs) after failed UK treatment and they are more open to testing and trying things I have found. The care had been excellent and I’d go as far to say that the standard of care and communication is higher and more efficient than the UK.

The difficulties lie in scans and blood tests when back in the UK but my UK clinic have helped with these. I have also used Ultrasound direct and a local Nuffield for bloods and scans. It’s a bit of extra fuss but fine if you’re organised. Most European clinics like you to do a HCG 8/9 days after transfer which to me makes sense with a 5 day embryo, so you’re not dragging out your test date for the 14 days.

The travel can be difficult as you need to be able to be flexible but they give you a window of a few days when transfer will be.

Hope it all works out for you xx

Hi I don’t have a personal experience but after my research I understand that is not an Ivf clinic itself and cooperates with a hospital fertility clinic. However the dr has a good reputation in forums .

Hello 😊 I’ve been with Ark IVF for 3 years now having had 3 failed rounds in the UK. I’ve had 2 rounds of IVF and 2 hysteroscopies (my choice through consultation with the doctor), and I’ve had a great experience with clinic. I know many others have too.

MENTS - our last round was successful and our little girl will be 1 next week.

I would suggest having online consultations with a number of clinics abroad to get a feel for them and their approach, so you can get a feel for them and see which one you prefer.

no experience with this clinic but I had treatment abroad. In response to what JulseyP had posted here earlier, yes in some places treatment is not regulated. I had treatment in Greece and whilst it's not HFEA that oversees them this does not mean treatment is unregulated. they have their own regulatory bodies. They only offered me evidence based treatment, very conventional. Nothing that NHS wouldn't offer. Good luck
